The MacWilliams team has significant experience of reviewing and delivering major projects in both the public and private sectors across the UK, Europe, Asia and the US. The MacWilliams partners have operated in a broad range of business sectors including finance, construction, leisure and large public events, aerospace, communications, defence and energy.
A good portion of our core business is providing independent project reviews; over the last 3 years the company’s Directors have delivered over 50 Reviews for 9 separate organisations including the Scottish Government, Welsh Assembly and many other public agencies.
We pride ourselves on providing professional, supportive, direct and concise services. We are a small company with only 2 employees and a cadre of like-minded associates with complementary skills. Our size enables us to deliver very cost effective support, flexibility, responsiveness and a solution to suit your model...not ours !
Our team
Alasdair Lawton – Director
Alasdair is an experienced chartered accountant and Prince2 practitioner, confident in the management of multi-skilled teams of over 100 staff. He is experienced in Statutory reporting, Project and Change Management, has strong system implementation skills and is accomplished in the preparation of financial appraisal and investigative reports. Alasdair has led over 40 Gateway reviews and has supported the delivery of 10 other reviews as a review team member. Just to fill in those other quiet moments Alasdair is also a member of the “handsonevents” team that delivers 7 sporting events each year attended by over 2000 competitors and is part of The Kinlochewe and Torridon Mountain Rescue Team.
Mark Abbs – Director
Mark is a proven and exceptional business leader, he earned his spurs as a military engineer managing high risk aerospace and communications projects in the EU the UK and US. Subsequently as CEO of a regional energy industries trade association and then as a Director with the Building Research Establishment, he applied his leadership and project skills within the energy, construction and sustainability arenas. Mark then established himself as an independent strategic project advisor with a range of business and public sector clients. A perceptive and confident communicator he is especially successful in engaging all stakeholders and pulling together their diverse interests. Mark enjoys a challenging project particularly those which others perceive as unsolvable. Mark's strengths are his energy, enthusiasm and his strategic vision.
